"Where
did you find that?" Will be a phrase heard often when you are
donning a Jody Singleton creation.
Jody
Singleton Leather Accessories is a custom designed &
handcrafted line of accessories including cuffs, earrings, necklaces,
belts, clutches, and chain wallets.
She creates accessories that reflect her client's creativity and
individuality. Her main inspirations are derived from vintage styles
coupled with the beauty of Nature. Her objective is to provide her
clients with the experience of owning a one-of-a-kind piece.
When Jody "builds"
each piece there is a natural flow to the design. Incorporating
materials such as ostrich & peacock feathers, Brazilian Agates,
Turquoise, guitar picks, birch & cherry wood slices, embroidered
patches and raw abalone shells. The rich colors and deep textures
from the materials add details that seem captured in the pieces.
"We are so connected to nature that we have an affinity for
anything that reminds us of it. Living in Manhattan, we need little
pieces of it in our lives from time to time to remind us of what
we're missing!"
Bruce Springsteen,
Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, Ciara, Shakira, Bo Bice, and Carrie
Underwood, among other celebrities, have worn Jody's pieces. Guns
"N" Roses wore her accessories at the 2002 MTV Music Awards.
Her work has also been highlighted in YM magazine, Lucky, Stuff,
Zink, Teen People, People, Blender, Trace, Issue, Anthem, the Post
Style Section, & WWD. In 2003, she created the entire line of
accessories for the 'Shapes By Anton' fashion show and her clutches
can be seen on the up-coming episodes of Desperate Housewives.
Jody began simply
creating pieces for her friends to wear with T-Shirts and jeans.
Her pieces have been sold in boutiques all over including Miami,
Los Angeles (Fred Segal, Planet Blue, Dale Michele, Curve, and Dari),
Puerto Rico, Japan and New York (Barney's NY, Detour, Amy Chan,
Intermix and The Good The Bad and The Ugly). Made for everyone from
the truly edgy to the classically styled, Jody's accessories are
a reflection of her personal motto: Wear art - Promote creativity. |
